TMJ problems often include the following symptoms : headaches, tension in facial muscles, popping/clicking of jaw joints, pain around the ears, pressure behind the eyes, sensitive teeth, build-up of bone around back teeth, divots at the gumline of teeth, etc. Many TMJ problems are relatively simple to correct. Few people actually experience TMJ disorders. The majority of TMJ issues are simply caused by uneven bites. Dr. Daniel has had extensive training in learning to fix bite problems. Oftentimes, a bite-balancing procedure is all that is needed to correct TMJ-associated symptoms. Other times, Dr. Daniel may need to make a biteguard appliance to correct TMJ issues. But, its like a puzzle and Dr. Daniel always enjoys the process of getting his patients well. Often, Dr. Daniel can accurately diagnose the situation with a simple bite exam, taking up to 30 minutes. He will sometimes need more time or extra information to properly treat the situation. The needed information could include x-rays, models of your teeth, photographs, bite records, etc. With all of this data, an accurate diagnosis can be made and the case can move forward.
